What is the UBM®?

The UBM®, the machine that makes buildings is an all-terrain, factory on wheels that produces durable steel buildings in days rather than weeks or months.

This patented, state-of-the-art technology uses an integrated computer controlled system to produce unique structures from various designs with ground-to-ground, self-supporting panels that require no beams, trusses, columns, nuts, bolts, fasteners, screws or sealants.

The UBM Buildings meet the highest safety standards including European CE compliance. UBM buildings are virtually maintenance-free, since they are watertight, rust-free, earthquake and fireproof. Buildings manufactured with the UBM outperform most structures with their proven functionality in severe weather conditions (heavy snow and typhoons). A cost–effective solution, the UBM simplifies construction.

Type I – Typical Kspan Structure

Current kspan contractors are only able to product the half radius (Type I) steel structures. These are quick structures but have difficulties due to the lack of side walls and loss of living space. To produce side walls, contractors are forced to provide either cmu or concrete stem walls, increasing time and costs. Current maximum widths with seismic and other loading factors is limited to approximately 20 meters.

Type II and Type III – Super Kspan Structure

VICC is the first contractor to purchase the super kspan equipment system for producing computer controlled steel buildings. These buildings can now provide additional widths up to and including 32 meters. In addition, we are able to produce steel structures that now have vertical steel side walls resulting in no loss of living space, increased production, and reduced building costs.

The two primary styles of buildings are the Type II (bread loaf) and the Type III (gable) structures. Both have vertical side walls allowing for increased living space, easy window placement, ventilation, and more.
